We partner with the City of High Point to provide utility assistance to qualifying individuals who have their utilities through the City of High Point.
To Qualify:
Your utilities must be through the City of High Point, past due, and in your name.
Your service must be active. We cannot help with deposits or reconnection fees.
You must not have received utility assistance from us or another agency in the past 6 months.
You must be willing and able to cover part of the expense of your utility bill. Helping Hands does not pay 100% of the bill.
Funds are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Required to bring with you when you apply:
Most recent utility bill from your City of High Point account in your name
Identification (License or Current Photo I.D. card)
Proof of Income (SSI/Disability Award Letter, Current Pay Stub, Bank Statement or Verification of Income)
Once application is complete, call (336) 886-2327 extension 2 to schedule an appointment.
Note: No checks will be written to clients. All payments are made directly to the utility company.
Client has 48 hours from date of application completion to provide all documentation.
Lack of documentation will result in incomplete and denied applications.
