Food Assistance

  • What is food assistance?
    Grocery items available to families and individuals at no cost to them. This program is designed to help those in need when they are facing a difficult situation. Food selections vary depending on what we have available , but typically includes a mixture of canned food, dry beans/rice, frozen meat, fresh produce and bakery items.
  • What documentation do I need for food assistance?
    None! All that is required is filling out the application and to update your information every 3 months. Upon completing an application you will receive a Second Harvest Food Bank identification card. That you are required to present to a staff member or volunteer each time coming to receive food.
  • When/How can I receive food assistance?
    The food pantry is open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11am-2pm. Each household can only come one time per week. Food can be picked up through Helping Hand's drive-thru times of service. No appointment is necessary to pick-up food through the drive-thru. Inside shopping is available by appointment only Wednesday and Thursday 11am-2pm. Inside shopping is available on Thursday from 4pm-6pm without an appointment. If you have never been to Helping Hands before and would like to receive assistance, you will need to fill out an application with a HHHP staff member.
